On October 20th Design Institute will host two masterclasses AI as Design Material & Co-Create the Future: Uncovering Shared Visions Through Design by speakers from NABA & Domus Academy
In this open discussion, we will explore AI and Gen AI. We will start by analyzing public discourses around AI, uncovering hidden challenges, and raising pressing questions about its pervasiveness. We will then reflect on the evolving role of designers in shaping AI-driven experiences and interactions. Finally, through recent student explorations, we’ll examine how this perspective unlocks new creative and critical possibilities. We will then see examples on how AI is transformed into a design material within the Master in Interaction Design at Domus Academy.
Valentina Dalla Costa’s an experiential co-design masterclass is to explore new visual and social languages through collaboration. Aligned with NABA’s MA in Social design values of co-design and identity, with a particular emphasis on internationality, experimentation, and interdisciplinarity.
About Speakers:
Valentina Dalla Costa is a lecturer, curator, and writer with nearly twenty years of experience in the field of design. She is the Course Leader of the Master of Arts in Design at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, where she combines teaching, research, and international cultural projects. She is the author of books and catalogues on design and architecture, and serves on juries and awards dedicated to creative innovation. She also has an extensive background in design journalism, writing for leading Italian design magazines.
Paola Romano started her career as an admission advisor in Domus Academy Milano, later became Area Manager EMEA.
