The "Festival Of Belonging" continues with the second of FOUR weekends on Aug 30-31 (Labor Day Weekend) featuring the premiere of composer JG Everest's "Mitigwaki" Sound + Performance installation on Saturday, from 12-5pm, featuring Free Range Orchestra members Nathan Hanson, Matty Harris, Eli Stone, Anthony Afful, William Truth Maze Harris, Jeanie Ockuly, Carlene "Gu Gu" Williams, and a whole lotta birds 'n trees n' buzzing pollinators... Plus, the new "Wild River Sound Garden" spatial symphony, a Poetry Walk along the river, and nature walks around the park. FREE with a MN State Parks vehicle permit. Fun for all ages.
The culminating project of composer JG Everest's MNPAiR Artist Residency at Wild River, the Festival of Belonging takes place over four weekends, each featuring different lineups of site-specific performance installations of dance, poetry, storytelling, music, and visual art, at different sites around the park.
