Summer Series, Walk 3, Lanes, Fojo, Riverside (11km ish)

This is our third “Summer Series” walk, rated Moderate, as the first half of the walk is a constant climb, but not too challenging, just constant for about 4km. We initially cross the N15 at Pingo and head towards the lanes that take us up past Fojo.
We will aim at being at the top of the hill before the heat kicks in, this walk has an extremely steep downhill in it, so if you have poles bring them for that part.
We will then walk along the River towards town, go up behind the Bombeiros through some lanes and finish off at Europa.
A few tips for new walkers
Please read the walk description carefully and look at the details on the map provided when making your decision to join, not all walks are the same, some require technical skills, some require stamina and some just require being able to wander along happily chatting making new friends.
Walking etiquette on our walks include
• Waiting at junctions for the group to catch up
• Rest periods only begin when the last person joins
• Keeping to the left when on roads and lanes with traffic, and staying on pavements when provided
• Keeping your guide within eyesight at all times, it`s your own responsibility not to get lost.
• Letting your guide know if you are leaving the group so we don’t spend time looking for people who don’t want to be found
Please bring your usual walking gear, plenty of water, there will be water and photography stops all along the walk.
