Timed with the shortest day of the year and signaling the arrival of Matariki, Mount Maunganui is set to host a vibrant Midwinter Solstice celebration across three days.

Throughout the Matariki holiday long weekend, from Friday 20 June to Sunday 22 June, our slice of paradise will come alive with a series of free pop-up events celebrating community through reflection on seasonal and spiritual renewal.

Brave the chill and dive into Pilot Bay for the Salty Solstice Dip! Join us for a midwinter splash and spot prizes for the most enthusiastic dressers. To entice you even more, we'll have:

- Free Sea People ice creams for the first 50 on shore.
- 50 free coffees to giveaway, courtesy of Soul Boul.
- And free hot chocolates produced by Solera for anyone who takes the plunge and swims, or $5 for spectators
