Join us! Thursday evening August 14th for an introduction level workshop Into the world of Contact Improvisation/Dance, following into an Ecstatic dance wave with DJ CymΔtics.
The evening will start a little earlier at 6.45, with you your facilitator for the evening Glow Ríe. Please try to be earlier than 7pm so we can begin🙂🙏
Your facilitators:
Kia Ora, I’m Gloria – a passionate dancer and movement facilitator, currently travelling through Aotearoa and sharing the practices that light me up. Dance has always been my way to connect with my true expression in the world. Contact Improvisation is one of my favorite ways to explore relationship – with space, with others, and with the present moment.
Over the past four years, I’ve facilitated conscious dance and CI across Spain, Guatemala, Canada, and now New Zealand. Meeting dance communities around the globe has deeply shaped my style and enriched my life path in unimaginable ways!
In this workshop, we’ll begin by connecting to the ground – the floor, our first dance partner – and gradually move into contact with others. You’ll be invited into a gentle, playful CI flow that will carry us naturally into the Ecstatic Dance journey.
Whether you’re new to CI or have experience, you’re warmly welcome in this somatic and grounded space.

The evening will then flow into a shorter Ecstatic dance wave with DJ CymΔtics.
DJ CymΔtics brings his years of experience crafting beautiful multi genre bass music experiences, emotive, intention filled Ecstatic dance waves.
This will be a chance to slip back into your freeform dance movement, following Ecstatic Dance core guidelines of no talking and consent culture, maybe with some added new skills and openness to explore some contact dancing with your fellow dance floor friends😉
Everything throughout the evening is completely optional, it is considered a safe space to be as internal, or open as you are feeling at the present moment…
Guidelines will be explained through out the evening to help build this container of safety and best practices on the dance floor!😊🙌
Pricing
The evening will be $25 per person, Cash is preferred for faster door-times, but online transfers will be available at the door where required.
