Silver clay workshop.
This is a half day beginners workshop designed for you to create lovely, shiny pendants and earrings using your favourite foliage to create gorgeous textures and patterns.
Using foliage gathered from your favourite spots, maybe your garden, from along a regular dog walk, your local park or anywhere that means something to you.
There will also be a huge range of texture plates and moulds available on the day to help create your pieces if you would prefer to go for a more contemporary design. There is lots to help you create individual pieces on the day, and guidance on creating your own personal design.
Depending on the size of the pieces that you want to make, there is enough silver clay included in the price to make a large pendant, or a smaller pendant and a pair of small matching earrings.
Silver clay is a really enjoyable and easy way to take the first steps towards making your own silver jewellery. Beginners can achieve some really lovely results.
On this course you will be able to create beautiful silver jewellery, created using moulds made from your choice of foliage. Choose anything from your garden, foliage foraged from your favourite park or maybe from a regular walk to create a lasting keepsake.
Or simply choose from my extensive collection of moulds and texture templates (in excess of 100 at last count!), the choice is yours.
On the course you will do the following:
• Explore your tools and learn what each does.
• Spend some time planning your pieces and creating designs.
• Make moulds using the flowers and foliage you have brought (these are for you to take home).
• Mould the clay.
• Dry the clay.
• File, sand and tidy the dried piece.
• Torch fire the piece.
• Complete the final file, sand and tidy of the fired piece.
• Add jump rings and chains to complete the pieces.
You will take home a matching set of earrings and pendant, or two pendants created in pure silver. In addition you will have a completed work book and written instructions, as well as a basic shopping list for getting your self set up to continue this hobby at home.
