Tartu Ülikooli botaanikaaias avatakse 4. septembril kell 17 Kristina Popovi näitus „Soo“. Soodele keskenduv näitus on avatud kuni 21. novembrini.
Näitus „Soo“ on pühendatud soode ökosüsteemile ja nende tähtsusele suurimate looduslike süsinikdioksiidi sidujatena. Ekspositsiooni keskmes on turbasamblad (ld Sphagnum), mis moodustavad rabades ja siirdesoodes tiheda pinnakatte ning on turba peamine koostisosa. Eestis on avastatud 40 turbasambla liiki, sh 12 haruldast liiki, millest kahte pole otsingutest hoolimata viimase 20 aasta jooksul leitud.
14. septembril kell 13 toimub botaanikaaia roosimajas (Lai 40, Tartu) Kristina Popovi juhendamisel tsüanotüüpia ehk raua-sinitrüki töötuba, kus vaadeldakse meie igapäevategevust ja selle mõju looduslikule tasakaalule. Praktilises töötoas saavad osalejad uurida loodusliku elukeskkonna ja inimtekkeliste objektide suhteid ning jäädvustada neid sammalde, taimede, puude ja leitud esemete kujutistega tsüanotüüpidel. NB! The exhibition Mire by Kristina Popov opens at the University of Tartu Botanical Garden on 4 September at 5 p.m. The exhibition, focusing on mires, will be on view until 21 November.
Mire is dedicated to the ecosystem of mires and their importance as the largest natural carbon sinks. At the heart of the exhibition are peat mosses (Sphagnum), which form a dense ground cover in bogs and fens and are the main component of peat. In Estonia, 40 species of peat moss have been recorded, including 12 rare species, two of which have not been found in the past 20 years despite extensive searches.
On 14 September at 1 p.m., a cyanotype (iron-based blue printing) workshop will take place in the Botanical Garden’s Rose House (Lai 40, Tartu), led by Kristina Popov. The workshop will explore our everyday activities and their impact on the natural balance. Participants will have the opportunity to examine the relationship between natural habitats and human-made objects and capture them on cyanotypes using images of mosses, plants, trees, and found objects.
