Beginner Hike Two Khappinghat National Park

This beginners hike has three possibilities in Khappinghat National Park south of Taree and north of Forster and it will depend on weather which tracks are chosen. Each hike variation is rated as a Grade 3 [AWTGS] with occasional Grade 4 components suitable for beginners under instruction of a guide. Each hike begins at 8am and will be finished by 11 am taking a slow leisurely 3 hours to walk around 6 kilometres of undulating terrain. What we provide: Fun, outdoor adventure, experienced & knowledgeable guides. We are wilderness first aid trained with first aid kits and Dave is a fully trained Outdoor Guide and adventurer with over two decades in the outdoor world. We are insured and have NSW National Parks ECOPASS approval to run business events in these National Parks. Dave is a practicing Pharmacist and Natasha is a practicing Naturopath,Herbalist & Exercise Physiologist. We can supply ankle gaiters if needed for the day. Each participant will get a map of the walk they can keep. Free coffee, tea and muffins/biscuits provided for the hike. What to bring: Bring your inquisitive self, ready to learn, have fun & connect. Suitable fitness to walk 6km at a slow pace with undulating terrain on uneven surfaces. Suitable walking gear, long pants and good walking shoes recommended. Appropriate layering of clothing, breathable t-shirt, longer arm protection from sun and bushes, and a rain jacket is necessary. Hat, water at least 1 litre capacity] , snacks, back pack if needed. Gloves, Towel, Camera are all good options. Sunscreen & insect repellent, toilet paper are all carried by the guide but you can bring your own. Hiking poles or stick is highly recommended, also ensure you have either Ambulance cover on your Health Fund or are Medicare approved otherwise we recommend getting personal outdoor based travel insurance. What happens on the day: We discuss hiking hazards, local area knowledge, hike with rest stops at notable features. Peruse maps and discuss the route. Connect with like minded people, connect with the beautiful outdoors, move our bodies and open our minds and connect with ourselves. Closing with a brief discussion and some tea/coffee & snacks.The exact course will be revealed to participants closer to the date as with the inclement weather we will decide which is the safest. Hiking is an all weather event, unless it's hazardous or completely miserable then it may be cancelled. Any payments made will be refunded if the event is cancelled.
