⛏ What to Expect:
A day filled with fun, community, and trail maintenance on the newest addition to the Carson National Forest's trail system.
Work will mostly consist of touching up the trail surface: removing rocks, benching (leveling), and widening the trail. We will be using tools like pick mattocks, McLeods, shovels, and hoes.
The trail starts at about 9,000' and steadily climbs for 2 miles until reaching the intersection with the Elliott Barker trail. We'll be hiking about 4-4.5 miles roundtrip.
💼 What to Bring:
Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay), and a day pack with plenty of food and water, sunscreen, layers, and rain gear.
We will be on the trail all day and not returning to the cars for lunch.
ECTA will provide the hard hats and tools
🧭 Where to Meet:
We will be meeting at Palo Flechado Pass:
Latitude: 36.4146
Longitude: -105.3367
At the top of the pass, please park in the large dirt parking area on the north side of Hwy 64 with a brown historical sign.
✨ We hope to see you there! ✨
