Nana Rashid on yksi skandinaavisen jazzin kirkkaimmista nousevista tähdistä. Tanskalais-sansibarilais-omanilainen laulaja palkittiin vuoden parhaana uutena jazzartistina Danish Music Awards 2023 -gaalassa upeasta debyyttialbumistaan Music for Betty, joka oli ehdolla myös vuoden parhaaksi vokaalijazz-albumiksi.
Nina Simonen raakaa emotionaalista voimaa ja skandinaavisen jazzin eleganssia kanavoiva Rashid tarjoaa oman ainutlaatuisen näkökulmansa moderniin vokaalijazziin. Music for Betty on syvästi henkilökohtainen ja tunteisiin vetoava albumi, joka yhdistää pohjoismaista melankoliaa neo-soulin, bluesin ja runollisen tarinankerronnan sävyihin. Albumin nimi viittaa hänen alkuperäiseen kappaleeseensa "Poor Blue Betty" – oodiin niille itsemme osille, jotka usein piilotamme, mutta jotka lopulta tekevät meistä kokonaisia.
Rashid valmistelee parhaillaan seuraajaa mestarilliselle debyyttialbumilleen ja esittelee myös uusia sävellyksiään lavalla ennen studiosessioita.

Nana Rashid is one of the brightest rising stars on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Nana Rashid has performed more than 50 concerts across Denmark and internationally, captivating audiences with her heartfelt performances and commanding presence. Her concerts are defined by a raw sincerity and emotional depth, drawing listeners into intimate stories of belonging, identity, and the human experience.
Now entering a new creative phase, Nana is introducing her upcoming compositions on stage before heading into the studio. For her, the live experience is essential to the music’s development:
