Pub Theology on Religious Pluralism: Can't we all just get along?

The United States is one of the oldest democracies with legal protections for freedom of religion. This has naturally led to a religiously pluralistic culture, with nearly all major faith traditions now established in our communities. Although Christianity remains the most populous faith tradition in the U.S., the second most populous in various regions may surprise you: Buddhism along the west coast, Hinduism in New Mexico, Islam in the South and Midwest, and Judaism in the Northeast. If we want to live in this country and love our neighbors, we must come to terms with this pluralism and learn more about these religions. Yet many believe that Christian beliefs are incompatible with religious pluralism. Is this true? What do the scriptures actually say about other faiths, the person of Christ, and how these things relate? And what insights might we discover about Christ through an open-minded exploration of other faiths? Some answers may surprise you.
