BETTER STRANGERS
GREY MARKET
THIN SPACES
GLOOMCHILD
at New World Music Hall
After years of progress in local and abroad music scenes, Better Strangers decided to part ways with their singer DeCasa in 2023. With this shift came a musical and artistic pivot, the band moving away from their established alt rock/hip hop synthesis to an edgier and more modern, progressive sound.
Having released music under diferent band names with diferent singers - while playing all around the world despite an inconsistent line up - core members Joe Rodriguez (Guitar), Yannick Waingarten (Bass) and Nic Collins (Drums) decided to lean into denser, more complex instrumental compositions that wouldn’t rely on vocal hooks.
With a total 10 years of musical chemistry (the latter 2 spent on complete reinvention instead of live performance) Better Strangers returns to fill the void they left in 2023, all while carving out a completely new artistic niche for itself.

Personal struggle and hardship have always been at the heart of Gloomchild’s music. Whether it be navigating personal relationships, or reflecting on the world around us, Gloomchild weaves emotion ranging from hopeful optimism to deep introspection.

GreyMarket is an independent rock band hailing from Tampa, Florida.
Influenced early on by the likes of Radiohead, Muse, and Led Zeppelin, and drawing equally from their mutual love of science fiction, drummer Michael Gargiulo and guitarist/vocalist Cave McCoy set about creating their own brand of modern rock music. The pair utilized electronics to add sweeping strings, buzzing synths, and pounding sine-wave bass to their arsenal, crafting a larger-than-life sound.
After writing, recording, releasing, and subsequently touring in support of four albums as a duo, the band invited up-and-coming talent Madison Keels on violin.
With this additional firepower, GreyMarket has doubled down on their killer live shows while retaining their commitment to self-sufficiency, all backed by a fundamental compulsion to get the job done right.
The band is currently nearing completion of their most ambitious record to date, a space opera entitled "The Echo Relay." A grand concept years in the making, the record compiles a range of tight, distinct songs that, together, form a coherent story arc of a record. After all, every great song should tell a great story, and inspired artists ought to create inspiring art.
