👨🍳 Kim Päivästö is a highly acclaimed chef with over 17 years of experience in some of Europe’s finest kitchens. He has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Gordon Ramsay’s Petrus in London and the three-starred Hertog Jan in Belgium. In Helsinki, he led the kitchens of Demo and Inari, both of which earned Michelin stars.
Kim began cooking at the age of 16, initially specializing in pastry, where his perfectionism and attention to detail flourished. He is a master of modern European cuisine but draws significant inspiration from Asian flavors, particularly Chinese, Thai, and Japanese, which he often integrates into his dishes.
Kim has earned several prestigious awards, including Finland’s Chef of the Year in 2021 and Best Game Chef of Finland in 2016. On 2021 he was also ranked 10th on Finland’s “Chef of the Chefs” list. Today, Kim continues to craft innovative dishes in Finland and Tallinn, combining the best elements of various culinary traditions.
For each course, Prike's sommelier has selected wines that perfectly complement the dishes. Throughout the evening, you will also gain valuable insights into pairing wine with food.
