David Valley is a Faroese comedian based in Iceland. After several sold out shows at the 2025 Reykjavík Fringe, he's bringing "History of the Faroe Islands (Please don't laugh)" to the Tallinn Fringe festival.
Ever wondered about the history of the Faroe Islands? No? Well, too bad. You’re going to hear about it anyway. This show is a deeply serious exploration of the Faroe Islands’ past, featuring no jokes but all the facts you never asked for and a few you’ll probably forget the moment you leave (and that’s okay).
For once, we as a nation are trying to be taken seriously, and this show is part of that effort. Expect a thorough, 100% academic analysis grounded in historical records and contemporary research. Topics will include some Viking history stuff, some more recent history stuff, and some stories from my life growing up in the Faroe Islands. Don’t worry, it’s more boring than it sounds.
So sit back, relax, and prepare to learn everything about very little. The history, the culture, and my story. I’m mainly just trying to educate people about my country so please try not to laugh. We don't get invited to things like this very often.
