Defeated Sanity is a pioneering force in brutal death metal. Composed of founding drummer Lille Gruber, bassist Jacob Schmidt, vocalist Josh Welshman, and guitarist Vaughn Stoffey, the band's music is marked by complex riffs and brutal intensity that push the boundaries of the genre while preserving its raw core. Over the years, Defeated Sanity has continually redefined their sound, balancing technicality with brutal slams in albums like "Psalms of the Moribund", "Chapters of Repugnance", and "The Sanguinary Impetus". Their much-anticipated new album, "Chronicles of Lunacy", returns to their brutal roots while maintaining the technical complexity fans expect. Fusing old-school brutal death metal with jazzy chaos and classical precision, the band takes a more direct approach on this album. "Chronicles of Lunacy" delivers a brutal yet intricate tribute to the band's earlier work, resonating with both longtime fans and newcomers.
