Synopsis: During FSU’s homecoming weekend, the city of Tallahassee is struck by the news of a wild Florida panther on the loose. Selina, a newly transferred student and media communications major, is shocked by the news and begins her own investigation. She enlists her Black Dog cafe coworker and environmental science graduate students, Huey, who specializes in Florida wildlife conservation. The Local Chapter of [ ] Fraternity is holding their annual Panther Hunt Social, themselves dressed as Seminoles, inviting their rival school, dressed as pythons, to join in on the cosplaying panther hunt and social gathering. Underneath the surface, a more sinister actual panther hunt is on the way, amidst a city-wide shutdown mandated by the Governor. Pantera explores the mythology of pre-Colonial Tallahassee, along with its human and animal predecessors, towards a journey of unlearning modern American history and embracing the mystery of the land’s formation.
