Music of the Spheres: Grupo Classico

On the first Thursday of every month during the academic year, the Center for Music of the Americas presents our Music of the Spheres concert series in partnership with Blue Tavern, Midtown Tallahassee's favorite neighborhood joint.

We're thrilled to welcome Grupo Classico, an extraordinary group of young musicians and researchers specializing in the Mexican mariachi tradition. Grupo Classico's members hail from various Latine communities throughout the US, and met at Florida State's College of Music. In the few short years since the group's founding, they have become one of the region's most in-demand mariachi ensembles, filling concert halls, restaurants, and parties with their high-energy music. We're very lucky to have them in our community here in Tallahassee, and we hope that you're able to join us for a very special night of music and stories.

As always, cover charge is a nominal $5, and Blue Tavern will be serving its justifiably renowned filé gumbo, red beans and rice, sandwiches (including vegetarian and vegan options) and a variety of beer, wine, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Hope to see you there!
