Come join together in solidarity and support for the people of Gaza, with an evening of sharing songs, poems and stories for a peaceful and just world.
This is an open-mic house concert and fundraiser, with all proceeds going with the NZ+AUS crew joining the Global Movement to Gaza flotilla; sailing food and medicine through the blockade.
Many of us have been watching the suffering in Gaza feeling devastated and helpless and we hope our get-together will be a chance to raise some funds for Gaza, alongside building community resilience here on Waiheke, through sharing our songs, poems and art with each other and uniting our longing for a more peaceful and safe world for everyone to live in.
Bring your friends, family and a song or poem to share (that aligns with the kaupapa of this event), or just your listening ears! This is an opportunity to take the time leading up to the event to sit still and create something beautiful to share either alone or with friends. We will have some simple kai available based around hummus and falafel.
