Show your love of Tīkapa Moana these school holidays

Recent storms have deposited large amounts of plastics, including tiny beads or nurdles, on our beaches. These plastics can easily end up in our food chain and in the food chain of our favourite Manu and Ika.

It takes a whole community to care and protect our beautiful moana, whenua and coastal ecosystems.

The Waiheke Marine Project warmly invites you to come and join a community beach clean up at Oneroa Beach. Bring your friends, neighbours and tamariki to join the ongoing efforts to regenerate our beaches and show your love for Tīkapa Moana.

Warm kai will be available at the end of the event.

Where: Meet by the BBQs at the middle of Oneroa Beach
When: Monday 7th July 2025 from 10am to 12pm
What: Beach clean gear is provided. Please just bring sun protection, a jacket, your own water, walking shoes & gloves if you have them.
