Fang Art Studio Exhibition

Founded by Auckland-based artist Fang Yuan, Fang Art Studio provides a creative space where tradition and innovation meet. Fang graduated from the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in China, where she developed a strong foundation in traditional Chinese ink painting and drawing, before continuing her contemporary art studies at the Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. Her practice – and her teaching – bridges the space between East and West, and between classical and modern approaches to art.

This exhibition showcases the remarkable work of Fang Art Studio’s young artists and highlights the importance of drawing in today’s digital age.

Exhibition Goals

To provide young artists with a platform that extends beyond the classroom

To invite local communities to connect with and celebrate youth art

To honour the enduring value of traditional drawing in a rapidly changing world
