述及一位身為受難者的藝術家，近二十年的創作歷程，其實更清楚的記述了白色恐怖對個人的影響，與戒嚴時期的時代面貌，有別于歷史片龐雜的資料陳述，避免流於政治迫式害空泛的指控，大量穿插畫家的家庭錄影帶，與「表現主義式的」人權畫作交叉剪接，直指人性受到政治鉗制進而扭曲的個人精神圖像，是影片的藝術形式亦是本紀錄片的特色。

影片為畫家的諸多畫作提供了扎實生動的歷史背景，也為白色恐怖的歷史提供了個人精神與藝術轉化的可能性。
