Auditions for Kiss Me, Kate

Auditions for Tahlequah Community Playhouse, Inc.'s production of "Kiss Me, Kate" book by Sam and Bella Spewack, music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and directed by Criss Pearson, will be held July 7-8 at 6:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 315 E Shawnee St in Tahlequah.

The cast includes 6 women and 10 men. People auditioning should be prepared to sing from their own recording or with piano accompaniment. Those auditioning should bring their own sheet music for the pianist. We will also need people to serve as stage crew members, construction crew, and technical help.

Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, Kiss Me, Kate combines the irreverent humor of four brilliant writers: Sam and Bella Spewack, Cole Porter, and William Shakespeare.

Performance dates are September 12-14 & 19-21, 2025.
