Cartoons, Heroes, and Monsters: Chalk Drawing at Museum of Glass

Join us for a lively and imaginative chalk drawing event on the main plaza of Museum of Glass, hosted by artist and educator Walter Lieberman. This community program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Walter Lieberman: Are you the guy who does the chalk drawings in the Hot Shop?

Inspired by Lieberman’s early practice of sketching characters from Mad magazine, the event invites participants of all ages to explore fantasy-themed drawing from comic book heroes to movie monsters. You are encouraged to create your own chalk illustrations directly on the plaza as collaborators with Museum of Glass instead of just being casual observers. This will transform the outdoor space into a vibrant, community generated art installation.

Selected drawings will be recognized with special prizes and giveaways from the Museum of Glass Store.

This program offers a playful and inclusive opportunity to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and the enduring power of drawing.
