A film rövid leírása:
A tudás hatalom. Kínában az állam ma többet tud a lakosságról, mint az emberek saját magukról. A megfigyelésnek sokféle módja van: az arcfelismerő rendszer, az elképesztő mennyiségű adat elemzése és egy pontrendszer egyvelege, amelyben a viselkedésed alapján szerezhetsz és veszíthetsz társadalmi kreditet. Ez a rendszer már-már disztópikus paródia lehetne, ha nem lenne már a teljes valóság maga. A filmben két család küzd a megfigyelés hálójában, ebben a digitális börtönben az igazságért. Chen férje ügyvéd, emberi jogi aktivista, akit 2020 óta börtönben tartanak jogi munkája miatt. Azóta éjjel-nappal figyelik Chen életét. Találkozunk azon ritka független újságírók egyikével is, aki az állandó fenyegetettség ellenére bátran feltárja a világ legnagyobb hatalmának gaztetteit. Az első egészestés film a kínai megfigyelő államról, a technológiáról, az (ön)cenzúráról, a hatalommal való visszaélésről, de mindenekfelett az egyre jobban ellenőrzött társadalomban élő bátor emberekről.

At the first screening of this year's BIDF EXTRA, the nationwide annual screening series of BIDF, we warmly welcome our guests with one of BIDF 2025's audience favorites, Total Trust (Tökéletes bizalom).
Synophsis:
The first major film about the Chinese surveillance state is a disturbing tale of technology, (self-)censorship and abuse of power in the 21st century. Two families fight for justice from within the digital prison. Knowledge is power, and in China the state now knows more about the population than people know about themselves. Surveillance never has just one face, but is a fine-meshed mix of facial recognition, big data analysis and a points system where you can gain and lose points based on your behaviour – a system almost worthy of a dystopian parody, if it wasn’t already a reality. Amidst this spider web of monitoring, the protagonists each fight a battle for justice. Chen’s husband is a human rights activist lawyer who has been imprisoned since 2020 for his legal work. Ever since, her life has been monitored around the clock. We also meet one of the only independent journalists who has had the courage to investigate the shocking developments in the world’s largest country. ‘Total
