About the event

Hiroshima Day Remembrance Procession
Remembering Hiroshima/Nagasaki Day Bombing 80 Days Later | Wed. August 6 | gather at 4:30 pm @ Art in the Atrium, 201 E. Washington St.

Join Nuclear Free World (NFW) in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6, 1945. Our annual procession honors the lives lost that terrible day, and is a reminder of the horrific consequences of nuclear weapons. Eighty years after the first atomic bombs were used in warfare, the threat of nuclear war is at a fever pitch not seen since the height of the Cold War.

The procession will end near the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W Fayette St. with Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens @ the opening of a photo exhibit featuring panels by the group Nihon Hidankyo that received the 2024 Nobel Peace.
