Join us for a hands-on sewing workshop where you’ll create the Becca Bag—a clever, structured zippered pouch with boxed corners, perfect for makeup, travel items, craft notions, or gifting. This project is satisfying, quick, and surprisingly addictive once you learn the technique.
This class is taught by Chris Foreman, a beloved and highly respected figure in the local sewing community. With decades of experience sewing, teaching, and inspiring makers, Chris brings warmth, expertise, and a knack for explaining things in a way that just clicks.
The cost of the class includes a complete kit, which contains the pattern and all the materials needed to create both a large and small Becca Bag. Students are encouraged to stop by the shop ahead of time to choose their kit and ensure they have the perfect thread color ready for workshop day. Vod sells thread should you need some on class day.
This workshop is ideal for confident beginners. Students should already be very comfortable threading their machine, winding a bobbin, sewing a straight seam, and locking their stitch. Participants must bring their own sewing machine and be confident using it.
Students should also bring:
* Basic presser foot
* Zipper foot
* Quarter-inch foot (if you have one)
* Extra sewing machine needles
* Extra bobbin
* Seam ripper
* Snips
* Fabric scissors
* Marking tool
If you have a machine but don’t yet feel confident operating it, consider booking a private sewing session with Vod before the workshop so you can get the most out of your class experience.
