Jazz Knights and Old Town Festival Presents : Dennis Rollins' Velocity Trio

The long established weekly Jazz club at Royal Oak Old Town has a legend of the scene appearing in what is set to be a jam packed week of Arts events across Old Town, Swindon.

For 25 years trombonist Dennis Rollins has played at the forefront of the UK jazz, funk and pop as an ‘impossibly virtuosic’ sideman to such stars such as Maceo Parker, Courtney Pine, The Brand New Heavies, Blur, Monty Alexander.

An award-winning leader in his own right, previous winner of the BBC Jazz & Best Band Award, the Parliamentary Jazz Award; Ronnie Scott's Best Trombone Award, Rollins’ ensemble is the Velocity Trio, a brilliant marriage of refined contemporary jazz arrangements with smokin’ grooves.
