I’m posting a quick hike this Sunday, August 31st. Meet at the Trolley Stop in Smedley Park at 7:30 AM. We will start at 7:40 firm.
This is located in Springfield, Delaware County, but it is close to Chester County, and I will be doing future events in Chester and Lower Montgomery county in the future.
This won't be a "speed walk" but i want to keep a moderate pace. Expect 5 miles within 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Well behaved dogs welcomed, and encouraged.
This will not be a run and it will not be a leisurely stroll. Goal is steady exercise. Route begins at Smedley Park, follows the Leiper-Smedley Trail, goes down to Avondale Road, crosses Rose Valley Road and the creek, loops through Crum Creek Woods behind Swarthmore College, comes back to Plush Mill Road, and finishes at Smedley Park.
Loop distance comes to about 5 miles with some dirt trails. Special hiking gear is not required. Running shoes may get beat up on trails, so comfortable older sneakers and pants are preferred.
Plan on a good workout that finishes early enough for breakfast while less motivated people are just waking up. I will be posting this in other groups, so please contact me directly to confirm your attendance.
