Full Moon Beach Ecstatic Dance

Wales' thriving ecstatic dance community is here!

Join us to move our bodies to soul invigorating, booty shaking, heart softening music and everything inbetween to release and surrender to whatever is present in our lives. To let ourselves be free and unapologetcically ourselves through the medicine of dance.

Our full moon dances offer containers to honour the lunar cycle, to return to the rhythm of nature to connect with our wild and wonderful selves. Dancing under a full moon is a powerful practice to unearth our aliveness and to let ourselves express, let go, bring forth or alchemise what needs to be met.

🌊We invite you for an evening of freedom, nature and heart felt community connection to dance with the elements at the beautiful Oxwich Beach. Join us round the fire or for a sauna session after the dance (1 hr sauna session at Ty Sawna is £10 7.30pm- 8.30pm).🪵

Our dancefloor location will be in a secret sand dune away from the crowds, with plenty of space to move with the sea, sand and sky. This dancespace is one not to be missed, a true nature immersion! (expect a 15 minuute walk to our dancefloor from the Ty Sawna meeting point)

Ecstatic Dance is a free form movement practice which takes dancers through an embodied journey of inner discovery, joy and freedom. This is a self-lead and expansive space with no rules, just a few guidelines:

🌀We dance barefoot, grouning into the earth.

🌀 We dance without words, to let the body speak.

🌀 We dance without substance, no alcohol/drugs permitted. We dance on the high of our own pure energy supply.

🌀 We dance without technology, being in the present moment!

💓We start the journey with a grounding cacao ceremony to guide us back to our hearts to warm up the body and to connect to the land before we explore authentic movement and embodied freedom, moving to our own unique expression ...dance!

🎵Our Dj will take us on a journey through a beautifully crafted, worldly & eclectic DJ set. Weaving waves of genres and energies to get our body moving and soul smiling with our immersive silent disco headsets. Ending with softness, stillness and slow integration back into our closing circle.

🎧Co-founder and Resident Dj Jazzy Bee will be gracing the decks with some fiery, fun, sensual and heart nourishing tunes to let our bodies speak and for our hearts to be present! A journey to explore the waters of whatever is needed to be experssed through movement and soul. Expect a set which is, booty shakin, sexy, deep, earthy and oozing emotion to explore the depths of our humanness, the light and the dark. This is more than a sober rave, its a transformational space to alchemise whatever is needed to be met and to honour being ALIVE in our bodies.

If you have never been to an ecstatic dance before or it may be your first time dancing sober and you feel nervous, please be assured the ED Wales team create a friendly and welcoming space. We are all on the journey together, and the dance portal is co -created by eveyones unquiness. It's a truly special experience when random humans gather together and find joy in letting our bodies be free to music with no judgement and compassion for eachother.

Flow of the evening:

4.30pm ~ Meet at Ty Sawna at Oxwich Beach (furthest left on the beach) to walk to our secret sanddune dancefloor (15 minute walk across the beach)

4.45pm ~Arrive at Sand dune, Opening Circle & Cacao Activation

5pm ~Warm Up & Ecstatic Dance

6.45pm~ Closing Circle

7.30pm~ Optional 1 hour High Tide Sauna (please book this, £10 extra)

We usually have a designated Photographer (who will be announced at the Opening Circle) who take a few short videos and photos at our events.We use videos and photos to promote our events on social media to reach more and more people who need to meet the power of dance! If you don't want to be included in a video or photo, please let the Photographer or a Team Member know at the beginning of the event or if you see any footage of yourself on social media and want it removed, please message us directly (on social media or via ) and we’ll do so immediately.

❗️*If the welsh weather is not on our side, we have a delightful indoor space which overlooks Oxwich Bay in Penmaen & Nicholston Village Hall - this will be decided on the evening prior via emails and social media*
