Cities are a four piece Alternative rock /electronica instrumental act from Swansea who’ve been wowing audiences with their energetic, post rock inspired widescreen indie electronica since the release of their debut album, ‘Manning Alaska’ in 2015.
Having built a name as an exciting support band playing with the likes of Monomyth, Breichiau Hir, Gulp, Trampoline, Obey Cobra, CHAOUCHE, Death goals, My name is Ian, Boris a Bono and HORSES, Cities have honed their sound and crafted a deeper, darker set of songs for their upcoming release ‘Hiraeth’
An album created out of the depths, pain and frustrations of lockdown.
‘Hiraeth’ is an untranslatable Welsh word, a world that has no English alternatives meaning
‘A deep homesickness; an intense form of longing or nostalgia for a place long gone, or even an unaccountable homesickness for a place you have never visited’
Cities sound is a melting pot of early drum and bass and triphop influences. Complex, beautiful and crushing ambient soundscapes with jazz influences, clashing with their love of post and progressive rock and ambient electronica which works perfectly when released into a festival setting.

From the splintering bone ashes of prog, punk and the sallow remains of no-wave springs a rare bird of apocryphal breed.
Gwilym Evans
Local favourite Gwilym Evans plays in hard-rock outfir Redneck Ritual, but will be playing a stripped back acoustic set where he delves deep into the blues playbook, rocking a lapsteel like only he can and channeling the likes of Howlin Wolf, Big Bill Broonzy and Son House.
