🚀 ‘Your Party Cymru’ is launching in Merthyr Tydfil on October 25th. Despite some recent problems between its founders the rise of ‘Your Party’ (YP) by Jeremy Corbyn and Zara Sultana is another major moment in the decomposition of British politics, and of Labour Party support in particular.
🚀 Although YP is not quite a full political party it has 850,000 supporters already - 25,000 in Wales. This is a massive shift and part of a process both of an alternative to the racism of Reform UK, and of Starmer's Labour as a party of austerity, warmongering and enabling genocide.
🚀 Everyone should be in Merthyr or watching it online, above-all we want it to succeed - but is a Labour Party or Momentum Mark II what we want? What can we learn from past similar left formations - Syriza in Greece, Podemos in Spain, Die Linke in Germany...and Labour under Corbyn?
🚀 How can YP be a success? How do we build such an organisation and what are the challenges it faces from the ruling class and the state?
