Students in grades 3 to 5 are invited to participate in Ingram Planetarium's essay contest in honor of World Space Week 2025!
From September 8 - October 11, students can submit a 100–250-word essay addressing this prompt:
Your team has discovered a new planet! Describe the planet. Is there life on the planet? Is it hot or cold? What would you name the planet?
PLEASE:
• Limit one essay submission per student
• Include student's name, school name, teacher's name, and teacher's phone number and email address with each submission
Essays will be scored based on the following:
• grammar and spelling
• adherence to the topic
• originality
• creativity
• use of evidence
• word count
The essay contest winner will be awarded a field trip to Ingram Planetarium for their class or grade level scheduled during the 2025-26 school year.
