Sunderland Film Club presents The Weird and the Eerie – a one-day film festival celebrating the most dread-inducing modern horror.
Join us on Saturday 8th November at Sunderland Minster as we screen some of the most boundary-pushing horror films of recent decades. Including screenings of:
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair – Alone in her attic bedroom, teenager Casey becomes immersed in an online role-playing horror game, wherein she begins to document the changes that may or may not be happening to her.
Lake Mungo – Alice drowns while swimming and her family begins experiencing inexplicable events in their home. The family hires a parapsychologist whose investigation unveils Alice’s secret double life and leads them all to Lake Mungo.
K*ll List – Nearly a year after a botched job, a hitman takes a new assignment with the promise of a big payoff for three killings. What starts off as an easy task soon unravels, sending the killer into the heart of darkness.
Between the screening of Lake Mungo and K*ll List, we will be joined for a performance by Sunderland experimentalist – Feral Yon. Expect dread, doom and drone.
