Centenary of Robert Challis Hudson

Join us in marking the centenary of Robert Challis Hudson.

It is 100 years since Major Robert Challis Hudson was killed in a tragic accident in the bell tower of Sunderland Minster, formerly St Michael's, Bishopwearmouth.

Robert was a member of the Hudson family who owned an ironmongers shop at 314 High Street West in Sunderland and lived at 1 Church Lane.

Are you a descendant of this Hudson family? If you are, you are warmly invited to a short service in memory of Robert at Sunderland Minster at 10am on Saturday, November 22, when local bellringers will ring the bells.

If you are interested in local history or bell ringing, you are very welcome to attend.
