Learn to Fly!

STEAM Innovation Labs and the Susquehanna Valley Modelers (SVM) are looking for pilots! We are hosting a one-day immersive flying experience on Saturday, July 26, 2025 to introduce participants to radio controlled model aviation.

Flight school begins at STEAM Innovation Labs in Sunbury at 10:00AM, where you will meet with RC aviators, learn about model aviation and the principles of flight. Three RealFlight simulators will introduce you to flight training with a RC controller. RealFlight is the best RC flight simulator for beginner RC pilots when learning to fly.

Once flight training is complete, class will travel to SVM Field at Danville Airport, where lunch will be provided from 12:30PM - 1:30PM by the Susquehanna Valley Modelers.

The afternoon will continue with live flight demonstrations, discussion with RC pilots, and plenty of hands-on flight training! With SVM instructors, you’ll be flying real model airplanes. Learn how to takeoff, land, and perform (some!) aerobatics. We hope to see you there!

Ages 12+

$75 per reservation, which includes admission for one youth and their parent or guardian.
