18th Century Whiskey Distilling in Pennsylvania Lecture

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, you are invited to our first lecture of the fall season. Our guest will be Mr Sam McKinney from the Northern York County Historical and Preservation Society in Dillsburg, PA. Mr McKinney has been responsible for the restoration work at Dills Tavern in Dillsburg. Dills Tavern is an 18th and early 19th century stone building restored as a period tavern and used as an educational center for learning about life in this time period. In addition, he has built a working 18th century distillery on the grounds of the tavern. Please join us to hear the history of whiskey making in Pennsylvania as well as the adventures of rediscovering how to distill whiskey according to 18th century methods and equipment. The lecture will be presented in our library at 1150 N. Front St in Sunbury. The lecture will begin at 2:00 PM, hope to see you there!
