Westside Baptist Church is hosting our very first Christmas In July to collect items for packing our Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts! On July 25th from 5-7 pm(ish!) we will be having a fun-filled night voting on trees that have been pre-decorated with OCC supplies, enjoying some summer favorites for dinner, and fellowshipping with one another in expectation for another wonderful OCC season to come!
Price: To get into the Fundraiser it is $6 per person, or $25 for a family of 5+
If you plan on enjoying dinner at the Fundraiser or want a summer snack, everything at the canteen will be sold for $1 each. We will have hot dogs, chips, popcorn, soda, bomb pops, and other ice cream treats.
When you purchase your ticket at the door you will receive 1 ticket to vote for your favorite tree! Whichever tree has the most tickets at the end of the night will win a prize!
If you are planning on decorating a tree for the event you must:
- Provide the tree, can be as big or as little as you would like!
- Provide the lights
- Provide all of the “Decor” (OCC items on the tree) to be donated
- Be available to decorate the night before, July 24th, between 4-8 pm
When you are providing a tree, think of a theme: Flip Flop Tree, Hygeine Tree, 6 Year Old Girl Tree, Dinosaur Tree, Yellow Tree, etc. We need to know by July 1 if you are planning on providing a tree & what theme you are going with so we can start working on signage and prepare the space!
Now, I say this event is from 5-7 ish, because once our fun night is over and the award has been given for the top voted tree, we will move into a time of serving and work on a service project for our OCC boxes. If you are able to stay, we would love to have you, but we also understand if we need to say goodnight for the evening :)
