Join Jake Ghost Hunter for an exhilarating ghost hunting event at the notoriously haunted Pinelawn Manor and Care Center, where you’ll dive into the eerie mysteries of this historic site. The evening begins with a one-hour guided tour starting at 7:00 pm CDT, led by Jake and the location owner Anthony who will share the chilling history and documented paranormal activity of the buildings. Following the tour, from 8:00pm CDT to 3:00am CDT, participants will embark on a free-roam paranormal investigation, exploring the manor’s shadowy halls and haunted hotspots at their own pace with provided equipment or their own gear. All attendees MUST BE 18 or older to attend and MUST sign a waiver upon arrival.

Location History:

Pinelawn Manor, located along US Route 50 in Sumner, Illinois, began as a motel in the early 1900s before transitioning into a care facility. In 1973, it became Pinelawn Manor, a care facility for the mentally disabled, and by the 1980s, it expanded into a nursing home with an adjacent care center. The facility’s history is marred by allegations of abuse and neglect, earning it a reputation as “one of the worst nursing homes in Illinois.” Over its operational years, at least 3,000 people died within its walls. Notable figures include Mike, a resident-turned-caretaker who passed away on the premises, and Ed, a nurse who died of a heart attack while on duty. The facility closed permanently in the early 2000s after being shut down by the state, cementing its haunted legacy.
