Eagle Watch Returns to Chickasaw National Recreation Area!
January 10 & January 17, 2026
Chickasaw National Recreation Area staff will once again host Eagle Watch on Saturday, January 10 and Saturday, January 17, 2026. Both programs begin at 9 a.m. inside the Travertine Nature Center before heading out to Lake of the Arbuckles.
Join us for:
A ranger-led talk on bald eagles
Guided viewing at designated “hot spot” locations around Lake of the Arbuckles
Afternoon activities at the Chickasaw Cultural Center
Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them. Spotting scopes will be provided at viewing stops. Visitors will follow park staff in their own vehicles to each location.
In the winter migration season, around 2,000 eagles make their homes near Oklahoma’s lakes and rivers—Lake of the Arbuckles is one of their favorite roosting sites!
