ANUBHUTI

Working with scholars, dancers, choreographers and dance historians is an honor and privilege to us on the Samskriti board because we are all passionate about the arts and feel that performances as well as informative lectures and workshops help us understand and appreciate our rich cultural heritage better.
And so, here we go! Which Carnatic music lover has not heard of the great Vaggeyakara, Muthuswami Dikshitar? But there are so many details we do not know about his life and musical journey, and Kanniks Kannikeswaran, scholar and music historian, will be in Houston on Oct 25 to fill in those blanks for us. He is an amazing person blessed with a wealth of knowledge, and we are bound to learn many new details about Muthuswami Dikshitar. So please come - it is a FREE event, and not many such events in this city are free - and be informed and entertained. Dr. Kannikeswaran will also release his book ANUBHUTI that day. Samskriti is delighted to partner with Classical Arts Society of Houston in this unique presentation.
