Shibori Indigo Dye Workshop

Join local maker Jenny Latreille for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the basics of Shibori dyeing using natural indigo — a traditional textile dye with a rich history in China, Japan, India, and West Africa. In this session, we’ll focus on Japanese Shibori techniques, guiding you from simple folds and bindings to more intricate patterns.

We’ll provide everything you need to get started, including test fabric and all dyeing materials. You’re welcome to bring your own items to transform — think clothing, pillowcases, napkins, or tote bags. Natural fabrics in pale colours work best to let the indigo shine.

Come ready to experiment, create, and leave with something uniquely your own!
