Let's go batty for bats!
Our evening starts with light refreshments and an hour-long talk by a member of Essex Bat Group. After the talk, everyone is to board our silent electric boats for an hour-long cruise watching out for bats as they swoop around us over the water.
Overview (approx. timings):
o Start & End Location: The Granary, Quay Lane, Sudbury, CO10 2AN
o 6:00-6:15pm - arrive for light refreshments and to take seat before the talk
o 6:30pm - The talk by member of Essex Bat Group
o 7:15pm - Comfort break and boarding for the bat cruise
o 7:30pm - Bat Cruise departs
o 8:30pm - Passengers disembark at The Granary
£15 per person.
Proceeds from the event go towards the Restoration, Conservation and Education of the Suffolk & Essex River Stour Navigation. A donation is also made to Essex Bat Group.
PLEASE NOTE:
o This event is unsuitable for younger children
o Passengers per trip subject to load capacity (average 82.5kg per person).
o To ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers and volunteers, we will regrettably cancel cruises at short notice in the case of adverse weather and/or stream conditions.
o Please dress appropriately for the cooler evening and weather conditions.
o Depending on numbers, our restored Stour Lighter, John Constable, could be used for this event and she is an open vessel without a canopy. The otehr boats are covered but it is likely window panels will be open to provide better visibility for bat watching.
