One Book South Dakota Discussion

The One Book South Dakota for 2025 is "The Cost of Free Land" by Rebecca Clarren.

We will be discussing this book on Tuesday, August 26th, at 7:00pm in the Community Room of the Sturgis Public Library. Please use the Sherman Street entrance of the Library.

South Dakota Humanities scholar Kate Meadows will lead the discussion of this work in which Clarren “melds investigative reporting with personal family history to reveal the intertwined stories of her family and the Lakota.”

The books will be available at the Sturgis Public Library to check out in late July.
