Persuaded: A play with music

The Reynolds Homestead, in partnership with , will present Persuaded: A play with music theatrical performance at the Star Theatre in Stuart, Virginia at 7 pm on Saturday, May 31 and 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 1.

Join us for a captivating stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion! Experience Austen’s timeless tale of love, regret, and second chances, brought to life with stirring performances and interwoven with seafaring songs of friendship, courage, and enduring love. Don’t miss this enchanting theatrical event!

In her youth, the lovely and blooming Anne Elliot was persuaded to give up the love of her life, the dashing but penniless Frederick Wenthworth. Eight years pass in regret and servitude to her privileged family until fate reunites Anne with Captain Wentworth, who has only grown more handsome, more eligible and more intent upon marriage. That is, to anyone but Anne. Experience this captivating new adaptation of Austen's timeless tale brought to life with stirring performances and interwoven with seafaring songs of friendship, courage, and enduring love.

This two act performance includes live performances of traditional and original sea-faring songs presented by the band "Banna". The show will run approximately 90 minutes including an intermission. The script and original songs were written by Tara Raczenski, with original musical arrangements by Evan Wang and "Banna", and directed by Phillip Powell.

This is a seated event and concessions will be sold. Doors open one hour prior to showtime.
