One Meme Away from War Exclusive Pre-Launch Presentation at ARTos House, Nicosia

One Meme Away from War is a Creative Europe–supported graphic novel by Armenian writer Ani Asatryan, premiering internationally at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025. Told through the voice of “Nobody,” a writer who refuses to write, the work confronts how AI, memes, and digital culture eclipse testimony in an age of fatigue and distraction. Blending oral storytelling, archival fragments, and visual narrative, it stages silence and refusal as powerful counterpoints to conventional witness narratives. A first version of this talk was presented at the University of Basel, where students responded with urgency to its themes. ARTos audiences will experience an exclusive pre-launch encounter with this internationally anticipated work.
