Corneal Translplants: Past, Present and Future

The University of Nicosia Medical School and The Cyprus Institute invite you to a lecture entitled “State-of-the-art Image-Guided Therapies for Colorectal Liver Metastases: The Evolution of Interventional Oncology through Advanced Technologies,” delivered by Constantinos T. Sofocleous, Professor of Interventional Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Attending Physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.


ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Constantinos T. Sofocleous is a Professor of Interventional Radiology at Weill-Cornell Medical College and an Attending Physician in Interventional Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Prof Sofocleous is a pioneer in image-guided cancer therapy and has led global advances in the treatment of colorectal liver metastases. His contributions—particularly the validation of imaging and tissue biomarkers in thermal ablation—have helped redefine standards in interventional oncology.

He is the Global Principal Investigator of the ACCLAIM trial, a landmark international study, and his work is supported by the NIH, the SIR Foundation, and international research collaborations.

BRIEF SUMMARY

New medical technologies are helping doctors treat cancer that has spread from the colon to the liver. Prof Constantinos T. Sofocleous explains how imaging tools and minimally invasive techniques are being used to target tumors more precisely, offering patients safer and more effective treatment options.
