Run to the Shrine 2025

Dust off your running shoes! Join us on Sat., May 17 or Sun., May 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. for our annual fun-run (or fun-walk!). Run to the Shrine features a 4-mile course that curves through the Zoo, up to Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and back down into the Zoo. It's the only time of the year that foot traffic is allowed on picturesque Shrine Road!

You'll have a breathtaking experience as you journey through the Zoo and ascend nearly 1,000 feet, enjoying stunning views of Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the city below. Participants also get a commemorative Run to the Shrine T-shirt featuring Hoffmann's two-toed sloth, Bean, as well as admission to the Zoo until the event ends at 8 p.m.

Thanks to our Run to the Shrine partners, Children's Hospital Colorado, Toyota, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and Colorado Springs SCHEELS for their support! CMZoo is one of very few AZA-accredited zoos that does not receive tax support, so events like this help keep the Zoo 'running!'
