Hadestown

This year I have several new drama students and several returning but many who do not have a lot of stage experience. I chose Hadestown, one of the most difficult but most beautiful musicals I have ever worked on. Two days into rehearsals, we went on strike for a month, my glorious students did not want their show to be cancelled so they organized 2 to 3 rehearsals per week and choreographed, directed and musical directed themselves with the support of Emmarae Gauley, Terrah Harper on piano, the Nightingale Hall and the Strathmore LDS church who provided a space for them to rehearse. They accomplished so much! Needless to say, I couldn’t be more proud of them. We didn’t cancel the show and we open Hadestown Dec 13,14 at 2 pm and 7 pm and Dec 15, 16, 17 at 7 pm. You can get tickets at the Vault in Strathmore or at the door! Tockets are $15. Doors open 20 minutes before performance and it is festival searing. There is a lot of heart in this show and a 6 piece band featuring former students, Ezra Hubbard on drums, Sarah Taylor on cello and Emmarae Gauley on vocals and train whistle. Please come and see what the students have created, they have worked so hard and they are doing a wonderful job!!
