Sounds on the Sand Returns to Ōpunakē This Summer

Get ready to soak up the sun and enjoy the sounds of summer—Sounds on the Sand is back at Ōpunakē Beach! South Taranaki District Council is excited to announce that this free community event will return on Saturday 17 January 2026, from 1pm to 6pm.

Bringing the heat to the coast this year is Party Patrol Duo, featuring Shaun Campbell (Campbell Vibe) and Karla Kimi. Expect high energy covers, feel-good anthems and a whole lot of fun by the sea.

“We know Party Patrol Duo will have everyone up on their feet dancing in the sun,” says Council’s events coordinator Ella Tosland.

“Whether you’re a local or visiting for the day, Sounds on the Sand is the perfect way to celebrate summer with friends and whānau”.

Pack a picnic, bring your beach gear and join us for an unforgettable afternoon of music, sunshine, and seaside fun.
