Deep in the Okau valley in the heart of North Taranaki, Waiata Whenua Farm will play host to a showcase of music, art and creative freedom.
Backyard Bass is Taranaki’s Premier underground music festival. We are a two day, fully BYO, multi-genre, underground event centred around creativity, music, art, camping, community and freedom of expression. We are a safe, inclusive and unique event set among the cascading native bush ridges of North Taranaki, on one of New Zealand’s most scenic festival venues. We have over 30 artists from around Aotearoa, playing a variety of music from live bands, Roots reggae and hip-hop through to house, techno, drum and bass, trance, dub and bass music.
Our aim is to bring you an experience different to anything you have seen before, with a stacked interprovincial line-up, variety of artwork, food, and music.
We will dance until the morning comes.
